Pre-Departure

Pre-Departure

Our commitment to your success extends beyond securing admission and a visa. As you prepare to embark on your journey, we provide essential pre-departure guidance. We offer advice on finding suitable accommodation, booking flights, and understanding what to pack. We also connect you with current students and alumni networks, giving you a community before you even land. Our goal is to ensure you have a smooth and stress-free transition into your new life as an international student.

The practical checklist

In the weeks before you fly, we help you sort the essentials: booking flights at the right time, finding student accommodation (university housing versus private), international health insurance, forex and opening a bank account abroad, SIM cards, and what to pack — including the documents that must travel in your hand baggage, like your funding letter, admission letter, and transcripts.

Money and first-month setup

Your first stipend payment usually arrives weeks after you land, so we help you plan the bridge: how much to carry, city registration and tax/ID formalities (like the US SSN or German Anmeldung), setting up stipend deposits, and typical first-month costs in your city. Arriving financially prepared removes most of the stress of the move.

Landing into a community

We connect you with Indian students and EduSail alumni already at your university or in your city, so you land with contacts instead of starting alone. We also walk you through your first-week university tasks — enrollment, orientation, lab onboarding, and meeting your supervisor — so you begin your PhD settled and confident.
